يتنبأ بالطلب المستقبلي على المخزون بناءً على المبيعات التاريخية والموسمية والاتجاهات والإشارات الخارجية، ويقترح مستويات إعادة الطلب. يقلّل نفاد المخزون والمخزون الزائد، ويخلّي رأس المال ما ينحبس في رفوف ما تتحرّك. المخرجات توصيات يراجعها فريق المشتريات، مو أوامر شراء آلية.
